bird night: Screening of Listers: A Glimpse Into Extreme Birding, and networking with biologists, conservationists, and birders.
Z.J. Loussac Library, Atrium and Wilda Marston Theatre, Friday, April 3, 6:00 - 10:00 PM
Slate calls Listers, “The hilarious new documentary about extreme birdwatching that’s winning over even non-birders.”
Listers follows two brothers who, undaunted by knowing nothing about birding, spend a year in a van, chasing bird sightings, and taking on the hardcore competitors in a Big Year contest. The surprise element of Listers is the incredible footage captured by brother Owen Reiser.
Before and after the film, you’ll have the chance to visit with people who work to protect and conserve Alaska’s wild birds.
