Avian Adventures Summer Camps offer a unique opportunity for kids to:
Experience wild birds up close with visits from our Ambassador Birds

Make friends with others who share their love of birds and nature
2026 Avian Adventures

June 15th - 19th, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm: Birds in Indigenous Culture:
Campers will learn about Alaska’s Indigenous cultures through bird-inspired traditional stories; use their artistic skills to make bird masks; and enjoy other avian crafts and activities.June 22nd - 26th, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm: Avian Anatomy and Communication + Bird Identification:
This week is for kids who wonder why robins sing and owls hoot, and why do birds have different types of beaks? Plus, they’ll learn how to identify birds and get to build a human-sized bird nest!July 20th - 24th, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm: Careers and Conservation:
Campers will explore conservation careers in rehabilitation and wildlife biology through activities such as identifying injuries, learning how to remove oil from feathers, and a bird banding workshop (campers will not be banding live birds). Plus, they’ll meet Ambassador Birds and learn about their roles in Bird TLC’s conservation education programs.
Ensure students pack appropriate gear for the weather, as camps are held outside in a large tent. There will be a break for lunch, so please bring a lunch and a snack.
Camps are $300 per camper.
