Go behind the scenes with Bird TLC’s award-winning Education and Behavior Curator!
You will:
Take part in a training session with the corvid Ambassadors Zahra and Shavila, and observe trainers working with a raptor Ambassador
Learn how to prepare diets for the Ambassador birds of prey (not for the squeamish!)
Create enrichment for the Ambassadors
Age and group size restrictions:
Participants 16 - 18 years old require adult permission.
14 - 16 year olds require a participating adult to attend the program with them.
No participants under the age of 14.
No more than three participants.
$500.00 for a 3-hour behind-the-scenes, one-of-a-kind experience!
Cancellations must be received 48 hours before the program, or a $75.00 program fee will apply.
Meet Chandelle Cotter, Education and Behavior Curator
Chandelle has worked in the animal training industry for 21 years. Her accomplishments include training a giraffe for voluntary blood draws, wolves to howl during education programs, and corvids to open and close their own kennel doors.
She is a member of the Zoological Association of America’s Training Committee and an active member of the Animal Behavior Management Alliance. Chandelle has led Bird TLC’s Ambassador Bird training program since 2020 and has won The Impact Award and Sharing Knowledge Award from the Animal Behavior Management Alliance in 2024.
