Our Impact

Rehabilitation

The majority of the birds brought to Bird TLC’s rehabilitation clinic have been injured due to human activities. Rehabilitation gives us the chance to undo the harm that was done and gives the birds a second chance at life in the wild.

autumn releases

Although the busy season is winding down, patients are still arriving at the clinic. And still getting a second chance at life in the wild. From warblers and pine siskins, to ravens and auklets, we’ve returned many fortunate birds back to the wild this fall.

conservation education

Ensuring the future of wild bird populations requires raising awareness of the threats they face, such as habitat loss, primarily due to increasing urbanization, and climate change. Our education programs inspire people to appreciate and care for the wild birds we share the world with, and empower them to take steps to make a difference for wild birds.

No-cost programs for Title 1 schools

Shavila takes a break from teaching to browse the library stacks.

Thanks to ConocoPhillips, our education team, including the hardworking Ambassador Birds, presented conservation education programs to students at 40 Title 1 schools this year, at no cost to the school.

Here’s what some of the students had to say after meeting an Ambassador Bird:

" I can't wait to see a magpie in my yard today.”

" The best part was holding the perch and having him land on it, wow, wish we could do it again and again."

"It was scary to see the bird flying at first but then it was so cool to see him fly around."
