it begins with one bird
Every year, Bird TLC cares for more than 500 injured, ill, and orphaned wild birds from across Alaska, providing the expert care they need—and, whenever possible, a second chance at life in the wild.
Behind every release is an act of compassionate stewardship: someone who stopped to help a bird in need, and the staff and volunteers who carried that care forward.
Here are just a few of the birds returned to the wild in 2026.
A Short-eared Owl returns to the wild.
An American Goshawk returns to the wild.
A Common Raven returns to the wild.
A Merlin returns to the wild.
An orphaned Canada Goose gosling is overjoyed to join another family of geese.
Orphaned ducklings get a new start on life in the wild.
A Steller’s Jay returns to the wild.
